About the committee
The Advisory Committee on Canada–U.S. Economic Relations brings together leaders from key sectors of the Canadian economy to provide strategic advice to the Government of Canada on the bilateral economic relationship with the United States.
Chaired by the Honourable Dominic LeBlanc, President of the King’s Privy Council for Canada and Minister responsible for Canada–U.S. Trade, Intergovernmental Affairs, Internal Trade and One Canadian Economy, the committee plays a key role in supporting Canada’s economic engagement with the United States, serving to advance and safeguard Canadian economic interests in an evolving global trade environment.
Mission
- Support a strong and mutually beneficial Canada–U.S. economic relationship
- Help inform Canada’s approach to the joint review of the Canada–United States–Mexico Agreement
- Identify opportunities to enhance North American competitiveness
- Strengthen collaboration with Canadian industry, labour and stakeholders
- Provide perspectives on trade, investment and integrated supply chains
