Jean Simard

Jean Simard is President and Chief Executive Officer of the Aluminium Association of Canada (AAC). He holds a degree in Civil Law from the University of Ottawa and is a member of the Barreau du Québec, with extensive professional experience in public policy mainly in sustainable development, energy, international trade and environmental affairs. He actively represents the industry internationally at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the International Energy Agency (IEA) and the International Aluminium Institute (IAI). He founded and co-chairs the Canada US Trade Council (CUSTC) focused on U.S. tariffs, and CUSMA renewal. He was awarded the King Charles III medal for his contribution to the recognition of Canadian Aluminium.
