François Poirier

François Poirier is President and Chief Executive Officer of TC Energy—a Canadian-founded, North American energy infrastructure company operating across Canada, the United States and Mexico. Since 2021, he has led the company through significant transformation, advancing nation-building projects while strengthening the cross-border systems that move more than 30 per cent of the natural gas used across the continent.

Before joining TC Energy, he spent 25 years in investment banking, consulting and as a corporate director. A recognized advocate for Canada’s role in strengthening North American economic resilience and energy security, he was named the Canadian Chamber of Commerce’s 2026 Business Leader of the Year. He serves on the boards of the Business Council of Canada, the American Petroleum Institute and CIBC.
