Share your views: Consulting Canadians on a possible bilateral free trade agreement with the Philippines
Current status: Closed
This consultation ran from December 7, 2024, to March 7, 2025.
2024 marked the 75th year of Canada’s strong and friendly diplomatic relations with the Philippines. As part of our shared ambitions to deepen business, trade, and investment ties, Canada and the Philippines announced exploratory discussions for a potential bilateral free trade agreement (FTA) on December 5, 2024.
Promoting trade and investment with emerging markets like the Philippines is a priority for the Government of Canada. Our trade policy and inclusive approach to trade is one that focuses on the interests of Canadians and economic opportunities for the middle class and underrepresented groups.
