Share your views: Consulting Canadians on the operation of the Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement (CUSMA)

The Government of Canada sought feedback from Canadians and interested stakeholders regarding the Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement (CUSMA) via a Canada Gazette notice. Feedback received will help inform Canada’s preparations for the first joint review of the CUSMA in 2026, and priorities for work being undertaken in 2025 including the 5th CUSMA Free Trade Commission meeting that Canada will chair.

Who was the focus of this consultation?
This consultation was open to the public and everyone was invited to share their views. Global Affairs Canada welcomed submissions from a diverse range of Canadian voices that included:
- the Canadian public;
- provincial, territorial and municipal governments;
- businesses of all sizes, including micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs);
- industry associations;
- academics;
- civil society organizations and non-governmental organizations;
- labour unions;
- Indigenous peoples;
- women, 2SLGBTQI+ stakeholders and community groups representing diverse experiences;
- students and youth;
- other interested Canadian stakeholders.
