Rationale

Review of the General Export Permit (GEP) to align with changes in circumstances and in consultations with U.S. counterparts.

Narrative

This general permit is a simple, straightforward pathway through which exporters can obtain the necessary authorization to export goods and technology of U.S. origins to any destinations other than those listed (Cuba, Democratic People’s Republic of North Korea, Iran, and Syria). This list is amended as deemed required by a change in circumstances and in consultations with U.S. counterparts.
