Rationale

These regulations are being reviewed to ensure they are fit-for-purpose and in line with Canada's foreign policy objectives in relation to attacks by Hamas against the State of Israel that began on October 7, 2023.

Narrative

The regulations have been amended at least three times since its entry into force in 2024. A periodic review of the regulations will ensure that it is updated and amended appropriately while remaining aligned with evolving legislation, policy objectives and priorities.
