Rationale

This order is being reviewed to ensure it is fit-for-purpose and in line with Canada's foreign policy objectives in relation to Sri Lanka.

Narrative

All Permit Authorization Orders pursuant to the Special Economic Measures Act (SEMA) are identical, and their purpose is to operationalize authorities that allow the Minister to grant a permit to authorize activities that would otherwise be prohibited under sanctions. The order will be amended and reviewed as required.
