Rationale

The statutory instrument is being reviewed to assess its effectiveness and ensure it remains relevant and aligned with evolving legislation, policy objective and priorities.

Narrative

Given the expiry of the 2006 Softwood Lumber Agreement, the statutory instrument is no longer applicable. A regulatory package to repeal the regulations is recommended. It is anticipated to be grouped with several similar regulations repealing obsolete or spent provisions with no current application.
