Rationale

Review of this general export permit to align with policy changes, changes in circumstances and to update administrative elements.

Narrative

These regulations are tied to General Export Permit No. 43 as both are expediting licensing measures for certain nuclear items to listed destinations. These nuclear items are also controlled for export by the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC).

The review of this permit would be conducted in collaboration with the CNSC to ensure alignment between both frameworks.

This permit continues to be relevant and consistent with the current approach to guidance.
