This order is being reviewed to ensure it is fit-for-purpose and in line with Canada's foreign policy objectives in relation to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
Narrative
All Permit Authorization Orders pursuant to the Special Economic Measures Act (SEMA) are identical, and their purpose is to operationalize authorities that allow the Minister of Foreign Affairs to grant a permit to authorize activities aligned with Canadian interests but prohibited under Canadian sanctions. The order will be amended and reviewed as required.
