Rationale

The statutory instrument will be reviewed to assess its effectiveness and ensure it remains relevant and aligned with evolving legislation, policy objectives and priorities.

Narrative

Obligations on declaring certain activities with chemicals imposed on Canada by the Chemical Weapons Convention (the Convention), which these regulations implement, have not changed since the Convention entered into force in 1997. We have not experienced any challenges with Canadian stakeholders resulting from problems with these Regulations.
