United Nations Act (UNA)

Rationale

These regulations are being reviewed to ensure they accurately implement the applicable UNSC resolutions.

Narrative

As a Member State of the United Nations (UN), and pursuant to article 25 of the Charter of the United Nations, Canada is legally obligated to implement binding decisions of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) taken under Chapter VII. The regulations may be reviewed on a responsive basis to make miscellaneous or administrative amendments to address recommendations by the Standing Joint Committee on the Scrutiny of Regulations.
