Rationale

To confirm that the categories of persons identified in the Regulations corresponds to today’s circumstances.

Narrative

These regulations list the seven narrow classes of persons who are exempt from the EIPA or portions of the EIPA while working in their course of employment. These include police officers, peace officers, Coast Guard and foreign security officers further to agreement between Canada and the foreign country. These regulations will be updated if any new classes of persons should be exempt from the EIPA or portions of the EIPA.
