Rationale
The statutory instrument will be reviewed to assess its effectiveness and ensure it remains relevant and aligned with evolving legislation, policy objective and priorities.
Narrative
Given the expiry of the Softwood Lumber Act of 2006, the statutory instrument is no longer applicable. A regulatory package in coordination with the Canada Revenue Agency to repeal the regulations is recommended. It is anticipated to be grouped with several similar regulations repealing obsolete or spent provisions with no current application.
